PORT for Health

PORT for Health is an annual conference organized since 2021 at the Łukasiewicz – PORT.
The conference brings together researchers, clinicians and industry representatives to discuss key advances in life sciences and translational medicine. Each year, the event focuses on a major biomedical challenge, alternating between neuroscience and oncology.
Neuroscience, one of the research pillars of the Life Sciences and Biotechnology Center, addresses molecular mechanisms of central nervous system disorders, including depression, schizophrenia, eating disorders, neuromuscular diseases and neurodegeneration. Oncology-focused editions explore cancer biology, disease mechanisms and innovations in targeted therapies. Across both themes, the conference emphasizes mechanistic insight, advanced experimental models, and translation of research into clinical applications.
The conference program includes keynote lectures, thematic sessions and networking opportunities, including meetings with patent and innovation-support organizations, fostering collaboration across science, medicine and industry.
A dedicated part of the conference, PORT for Business, is focused on cooperation with industry and innovation stakeholders. This segment creates space for dialogue between scientists, biotech and pharma companies, investors, and patent organizations. It supports technology transfer, commercialization of research results, and the development of strategic partnerships at the interface of science and business.
PORT for Health also serves as a flagship event of the P4Health Center of Excellence, funded under the Horizon Europe Teaming for Excellence programme. The initiative aims to integrate research with healthcare and accelerate the development of personalized medicine in Poland.
The conference is organized by the Life Sciences and Biotechnology Center research center at the Łukasiewicz – PORT.
P4Health seminar series

The P4Health seminar series is a core component of the educational programme of the P4Health Center of Excellence. The seminars feature internationally recognized experts in translational research, creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices across disciplines.
The series is designed to strengthen competencies in bridging fundamental research with clinical application. Particular emphasis is placed on research strategy, proposal development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the translation of scientific discoveries into healthcare solutions.
Through regular interaction with leading scientists and innovation practitioners, the seminar series contributes to building a community of experts that can serve as a platform for dialogue within the research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem, including exchange with regulatory bodies and healthcare stakeholders.
Patient Organization Meetings

We organize meetings with patient organizations to ensure that research and innovation are aligned with patients’ needs. These meetings foster dialogue between scientists, clinicians, and patient representatives, helping to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical practice.
The sessions provide a platform to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for collaboration. They support the integration of patient perspectives into research, the development of translational projects, and the advancement of personalized medicine. By building trust and mutual understanding, these meetings contribute to more effective, patient-centered scientific solutions.
