Experts from Łukasiewicz – PORT are developing technologies to support new, more effective therapies for cancer and neurological disorders. Together, they form the core team of the Centre of Excellence dedicated to predictive, preventive, personalized, and participatory medicine. 

Prof. Bastian Hengerer

An internationally recognized neuroscientist with over three decades of leadership experience in pharmaceutical R&D, spanning senior roles at Novartis and Boehringer Ingelheim and extensive academic–industry collaborations. His career combines scientific rigor with translational impact, marked by major contributions to drug discovery, global research consortia, and the advancement of novel therapies into clinical development.

Dr hab. Witold Konopka

A neuroscientist and research leader focused on understanding the molecular basis of brain diseases. He envisions a future where precise biomedical profiles guide doctors in selecting the right therapy for each individual patient. 

Dr hab. n. med. Patrycja Gazińska (Prof. PWr)

Director of the Population Diagnostics Center at Łukasiewicz – PORT. She is an expert in biobanking and advanced research pathology, integrating spatial phenotyping, digital imaging, and computational pathology to define histopathological signatures of prognostic and predictive value that advance precision oncology. 

Dr Agnieszka Krzyżosiak

A molecular biologist validating therapeutic targets in cutting-edge disease models. Her work ensures that laboratory discoveries translate into real benefits for patients. 

Dr hab. Grzegorz Chodaczek

An immunologist and cell engineer developing innovative, cell-based approaches to fight disease. He focuses on immunotherapies tailored to individual patients. 

Dr Michał Ślęzak

Head of the Astrocyte Biology Research Group at Łukasiewicz – PORT. He explores the role of glial cells in brain function and disease, contributing to the translational vision of P4Health. 

Dr Michał Malewicz

Director of Life-Science and Biotechnology Center at Łukasiewicz – PORT, he led the preparation of the P4Health proposal. His international perspective and commitment to collaboration help define the long-term scientific vision of the project. 

Anna Nosal

An expert in research management and European funding, she ensures that P4Health’s scientific ambitions translate into well-coordinated, strategic progress.
