AstroExo-HD Awarded MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship

The AstroExo-HD project has received funding through the prestigious MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship under the Horizon Europe program.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder with no approved therapies capable of slowing its progression. The AstroExo-HD project investigates a novel disease mechanism related to astrocyte dysfunction and extracellular vesicle signaling, paving the way for the development of precise biomarkers and new therapeutic strategies.

The project will be conducted in the Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration Research Group at Łukasiewicz – PORT by Dr. Rohit Shrivastava (MSCA Fellow) under the scientific supervision of Dr. Agnieszka Krzyżosiak (Supervisor). We warmly congratulate the entire team and wish them success in carrying out the project!

The research uses advanced patient-derived cell models and multi-omics approaches to better understand neurodegeneration mechanisms and identify new therapeutic targets, with potential relevance also for other neurodegenerative diseases.

This is another step in strengthening Łukasiewicz – PORT’s potential in neurodegeneration research and precision medicine.
