Witold Konopka, Patrycja Gazińska, Michał Ślęzak, Grzegorz Chodaczek, Michał Malewicz, Agnieszka Krzyżosiak and Anna Nosal – this is the P4Health project team that has just been included among the 30 Creative People of Wrocław.
“P4Health is one of the most ambitious initiatives in the field of precision medicine in Europe. Our city has the chance to become a central hub of innovations that genuinely improve patients’ quality of life and access to healthcare. Achieving the project’s goals—new diagnostic methods, early detection of cancer and neurological diseases, development of biobanking, or more effective treatment—requires close cooperation between scientists, clinicians, and industry. And we are beginning this cooperation,” says Dr hab Witold Konopka, project leader and Head of the Research Group for Neuroplasticity and Metabolism at Łukasiewicz – PORT.
30 Creative People of Wrocław is a city initiative that has, for the past eight years, promoted initiatives, people, and ideas that are unconventional, inspiring, innovative—those that develop the city and its residents.
P4Health is an international endeavour—PORT scientists collaborate with specialists from CERBM in Strasbourg and King’s College London. However, Wrocław is the place where its outcomes will be implemented. The capital of Lower Silesia is becoming an important point on the European scientific map, uniting the local scientific and academic community, attracting international experts and investments in modern technologies. The project will enable the creation and development of new spin-off companies and increase the innovation of the biomedical sector, strengthening the city’s position as a leader in this field in Poland and Europe.
